Happy Tuesday everyone, welcome to the very first edition of the Yes Theory Community Newsletter! We are so excited to have you here and hope you are ready to read about what's been happening in the community.
What an incredible week in the community! So many events to choose from, so it was a difficult decision to choose which ones to highlight. Here are the top 3 meetups of the week:
The Biggest North American Yes Fam Meetup
North America, you have stepped up your game! A group of community members from Yes Fam Toronto hosted a meetup with over 250 of you coming in from all over and it officially broke the record for the biggest Yes Fam Meetup ever. There were so many group activities that brought people together including a variety of SPARK-related challenges. As a salute to Wim Hof and Anders Hofman, our beloved Icemen, seekers got to participate in breathing exercises and cold plunges. There were also special guest performances, including a Ted Talk, a stand-up comedian, and singers! Congratulations to the organizing team!
We loved seeing all your smiles in the Seekers Day videos!
“We were absolutely mindblown by the reaction we got from the community. From what we started as North America’s biggest Yes Fam meetup, we ended up hosting the biggest Yes Fam meetup ever! We had so many activities that got people out of their comfort zones- like icedips and Spark Challenges, and after completing these, people went home feeling bold and confident, which was our goal.”

Hike up Ireland’s Highest Mountain
A community member from Yes Fam Ireland organized a hiking trip up Ireland’s highest mountain in County Kerry! This open invitation was received by 23 of you who showed up from 11 different countries and formed deep connections. Well done to all of you!
Maybe we will see some of you tackle Everest or K2?
“Hiking Ireland’s highest mountain was the most amazing experience! Doing it with 23 people from 11 different countries made it even more special. I can’t wait to do it again!”
- Reece, Ireland
The East Coast Meetup
This was the first ever East Coast meetup where over 100 of you travelled from all over the US East Coast to meet each other in Washington DC over this past weekend thanks to the DMV Yes Fam’s idea of bringing everyone together. Some of our highly engaged community members made sure that this was a weekend packed full of fun activities to keep you busy all weekend long. Some of the fun included a picnic, a talent show, a water gun fight, a hike and so much more! This wouldn’t be a Yes Fam meetup if strangers weren’t involved, so many of you got the chance to talk with strangers thanks to SPARK. What a great way to connect with others!
Could this spark motivation for the West Coast Yes Fam to do a similar event?
“The first ever Yes Fam East Coast Meetup in DC kicked off with the blast as we made new friends and memories while exploring DC. Throughout the day, we got to seek discomfort by doing challenges with strangers such as asking the spark cards with strangers, handing out roses courtesy of @cymnowflowers, trading a paper clip, etc. The fun didn’t stop there as we continued the night with a talent show such as hula hooping and a challenge for each scavenger hunt team like doing karaoke. We had so much fun doing these challenges with strangers!”

Every week we go through the wonderful stories that the community shares in our Yes Theory Fam Facebook group to highlight someone who is living the "Yes Theory".
Gretchen the Parachutist
Meet Gretchen, a Yes Fam Parachutist who tackled her first skydive when the pandemic hit thanks to her constant “Seek Discomfort” motivation. Her hard work paid off because, with only 66 jumps, she was to make the cover of USPA Parachutist magazine. She shared how rewarding the experience was, however, she had to face many obstacles to get to where she is today.

London, UK - Picnic, Bingo and SPARK (13th of August)
Konstanz, Germany - Camping Konstanz FiYESta (19th - 21st of August)
Make sure to message us about your upcoming meetups so they get added to this list!
It’s August which means that the team is officially off for the month enjoying their break. With everyone always working hard on different projects, they all deserved some time to reflect and reset. So we hope you will also have the time to do the same!
In case you missed it, last week we announced our second Sponsored Seeker, Nelly Attar, who became the first Arab woman to summit K2.
We are hoping to sponsor more of you down the line, not just athletes, but also entrepreneurs, artists, etc. We want to hear from you, who do you think should be our next sponsored seeker and why? Share with us in the comments!
Hi everyone, how can I join or start a YES Theory meet up in Italy?
This was my first time getting the newsletter, not sure exactly how I got it, but it was a welcome surprise
