Hey everyone, we hope you had a lovely weekend. We know that some of you are slowly going back to school so we hope that everything has been going smoothly. Can you believe that this is already our 4th publication?
It’s Tuesday, so get ready for your snappy weekly read!
Another week, another set of meetups. With this being the 4th publication, we have managed to highlight 12 meetups from 12 different communities around the world! Well done everyone!
We are Standing and the Water is Falling
Remember when Tommy travelled to Costa Rica earlier this year for a video? He got to meet with the Costa Rica Yes Fam when he was there and they took him on a hiking adventure. This time, 10 of you went in search of a waterfall around the city of Cartago. With the weather being so beautiful, you had to indulge in a nice swim to cool off from all that hiking.
We love seeing you guys being active when the weather is beautiful!
“I love our meet ups here in Costa Rica. We take advantage of all the nature around us and mostly go hiking and exploring new places. It always fills me up with joy and peace to go to a new waterfall with old friends from the community or new friends-to-be.”
- Kev, Costa Rica
A Weekend Getaway
The Mexico Yes Fam, or as they call themselves the “Si Señor Fam”, is known for their extravagant trips full of fun. For this trip, 30 of you travelled to Veracruz to explore the city and its beauties. You got to connect over games, movie nights, and dancing which we got to see through the video on your Instagram. We definitely get FOMO from watching all the laughter and fun you get to experience during your weekend trips.
If there was an award for the most creative community name, you guys would definitely be the winners!
“Since it was the second time about 30 of us would be meeting up somewhere far from home, the expectations were high. For a whole weekend, we got to live together by the beach so it was a new sunny experience to share together. You really just forget all these strangers met through the internet. You see them dancing around, singing, and laughing together despite having different opinions, beliefs, and even accents. But it’s nice to think we all have in common the way we found each other and how really seeking discomfort gave us friends. There’s never enough time to sit down and talk to every single one of them but it’s about the small moments that you realize each of us has a place in this group. We come back home feeling grateful for the experience but already planning the next one to see most of them as soon as possible..”
- Anonymous, Mexico
Efteling Meetup
Who said that amusement parks were only for kids?
In the magical forests of the Netherlands lies the famous Efteling park where our mythical Dutch Yes Fam got to meet up as a fun way to wrap up the summer. You guys had so much fun this past weekend that you really hope to make this a yearly tradition of chasing fairies across the deepness of the park. Dinosaurs don’t always have to be scary, look how well this one took care of our community!
“It was a sunny day with a lot of fun activities and conversations. While waiting in line we got to get to know everyone better. While exploring the park we could completely step out of our comfort zone with the different attractions.”
- Jill, Netherlands
Every week we go through the beautiful stories that the community shares in our Yes Theory Fam Facebook group to highlight someone living the "Yes Theory".
Small Steps are Big Steps
“Seek Discomfort” has a different meaning for every single one of us and it doesn’t always have to be about performing dangerous stunts. Danielle shared how with time she’s learnt to become more independent and feels more and more comfortable enjoying time alone. This was a Seek Discomfort moment for her without even realising it.
So, we are challenging you to go to a cafe, a restaurant, a movie, or whatever activity you’d like by yourself. We encourage you to put your phone away and just to try being in the moment. Let us know how it goes!

Do you know our friend Cory?
In case you don’t know, Cory S. Martin is a very talented videographer that has come with us on many adventures to help us capture incredible moments like the Nepalese Honey, The Iceman Doc, Abandoned Disney Castles in Turkey, and many more. He is starting his very own Youtube Channel to share stories from his trips around the world.
Reply to this email (or leave a comment) on what questions you have for Cory and we will highlight them with his answers in next week’s Yes Theory Corner.
Hi,
I subscribed to Yes Theory awhile back when the content was about getting motivated and doing things outside our comfort zone.
I've noticed the last few emails are about posting photos of meetups in different places around the world.
Can you please confirm if this email has now morphed into a meetup newsletter?
If so, I'll unsubscribe because I'm not interested. Please let me know how to subscribe to Yes Theory if they are doing newsletters like they had done originally.
Thanks,
Mark
