Get your popcorn ready!
Are you ready for this week’s newsletter? We know that today is Wednesday but we had to make sure we had some things finalized to bring you the best possible edition.
We are especially excited for this one because we have a special surprise we are finally able to share with you so make sure to scroll down to the Yes Theory Corner to not miss it!
We can’t believe that we are still managing to bring you meetups from different countries, this just shows you how international this community really is!
I Took my Uber Driver on an Adventure
Wait a second… is this a Yes Theory video?
Look again! Two of you from the Discord Server decided to meet and go on a fun Seek Discomfort adventure together. What a great choice of going paragliding, the view must have been insane. But this was no regular paragliding session, there was a twist…you invited your Uber driver to join and he said yes!
“Last Friday I went paragliding in Medellin, Colombia with a stranger from the Yes Fam Discord channel and our Uber driver who said yes spontaneously. The three of us formed a deep bond with a shared adrenaline experience of paragliding. A reminder we can create our own adventures. We never know whose life we’re impacting, and how they might impact ours. All people around us all have the potential to teach us something or experience something with us. Strangers become friends, because friends were once strangers.”
- Maria, Colombia
Surprise Treasure Hunt
What a turnout!
This event brought together 45 of you from all over India to a meetup organized by the Bengaluru Yes Fam. Before starting with the surprise treasure hunt, you got to know each and connect over a series of “Seek Discomfort” related dares. When it finally came to the treasure hunt, you found out that the winning team would win a sponsored trek at the end of the month!
“The people participated in the event made this an excellent and successful event despite the fact that 90℅ of the participants are new to yes fam. So many stranger from different parts of India became friends today, we saw there team sprite as one and watched them competing, the feeling was surreal. As a part of the organizers team(yesfambengaluru), I get to plan this spontaneous event over night and get to pull of this amazing event successfully and also get to hear about 45+ strangers first time meet up experience. I really love this diverse and welcoming community. Yes, Yes Theory and Yes Fam is my second home.”
- Krishnendu, India
Finally Meeting
A lot of your friendships tend to start online, especially the ones that got to know each other during the last few years. We always hope that online friendships can blossom offline and that is exactly what you guys did. A community member from the US decided to travel to finally meet members of the Northern Ireland Yes Fam in Belfast. To give him a warm welcome, you showed him the beauties of the city and finished off with a nice dinner altogether.
“It was absolutely grand! To be able to meet some long time yes fam friends in person, explore a beautiful city, and bring in my long time friends into the Yes Theory Fam mindset… Truly an amazing time.”
- Ben, USA
Every week we go through the beautiful stories that the community shares in our Yes Theory Fam Facebook group to highlight someone living the "Yes Theory".
First Solo Trip
A community member, Michael, shared with us the experience of his first ever solo trip after feeling stuck in his home country of Germany. He decided to travel to Colombia where he’s never been, doesn’t speak the languages and doesn't know anyone. Being an outgoing person, this trip turned out to be more difficult than he expected due to the challenges that he faced.
