It’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for another edition of our Community Newsletter. Let’s start this week with the inspiring quote left at the end of the last video:
“What should young people do with their lives today?
Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.”
– Kurt Vonnegut.
This couldn’t be more relevant to what we have to share with you this week!
We’ve seen so many meetups this week and decided to highlight ones from three different continents, Asia, Europe and North America:
Sk8er Bois and Girls
The Canadians in us are jamming to Avril Lavigne at the sight of this fantastic group shot from Yes Fam Singapore! In partnership with Odyssey Boards, a local business and Singapore's first longboard brand, over 30 of you were able to meet and learn how to longboard. What made this crusin' meetup even more special was that you decided to do a giveaway where one lucky attendee won a custom longboard, which is yet another example of how this community is always giving back.
Congratulations to the winner, Lydia!
“It's always an awesome feeling seeing like-minded communities coming together. People always say "Singapore is boring" but today I feel that we proved them wrong! It's heart warming seeing new friendship being forged and all these experiences that turned into amazing memories to be kept forever. Also, being able to connect with YesFam members from Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain and India in this very small country really say a lot about how powerful the Yes Fam community is. As always, keep seeking!”
- Justin, Singapore
Konstanz FiYESta
Over the weekend we saw the first-ever Camping FiYESta hosted in southern Germany near Konstanz. Nearly 30 of you spent the weekend together playing games, star gazing, competing through the construction of a marble track, and enjoying a pizza party. You also went swimming and released some tent-ion by taking a plunge in Lake Constance!
Did you know that the term “FiYESta” comes from our Yes Fam Discord Server? It's traditionally used when referring to specially organized multi-day Yes Fam meetups facilitated by some of our most active and engaged community members. FiYEStas are entirely community-led events featuring activities and experiences with the goal of creating meaningful connections.
Scroll down for details about the next FiYESta and join the Discord Server to learn how to plan your own!
“It was so much fun organizing this fiyesta. The weather was about to make it hard to camp, but everyone showed up with such good energy even the weather decided to play along (mostly). Can't wait to organize the next one.”
- Selina, Germany
Comedy Night
The New York Yes Fam gathered in Brooklyn at Doped up Comedy to attend a fun comedy night. But this was no regular comedy night, they came to watch a fellow community member perform!
Here’s a joke from us to you:
Did you hear about the claustrophobic astronaut?
He just needed a little space.
You guys laughed so much at our joke while taking this photo that it came out a bit blurry.
“We had a seating area on our own in the comedy club, where we were able to watch various comedians who provided a good show with a lot of laughter.”
- Elbachir, USA
Every week we go through the beautiful stories that the community shares in our Yes Theory Fam Facebook group to highlight someone living the "Yes Theory".
The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge
A community member, Ira, shared with us the story of her brother Danny who was the person that introduced her to Yes Theory. Next year, Danny and his friend are taking on the "Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge” which consists of 30 teams rowing across the Atlantic. They will have to row around 3000 miles (4800 km) which will take them between 45-60 days. Their goal is to complete the challenge while raising money for a variety of charities.

We started the newsletter with the quote that ended last week’s videos. In case you didn’t see it, Tommy embarked on a European road trip back in August of 2019 with the goal to meet as many of you as he could.
This video perfectly fits with what the goal of this newsletter is, to highlight how incredible and powerful this community is. So if you want to show your friends and family what the Yes Fam is about, send them this newsletter and make them watch the video below!
In the comments, share with us what is one word you would use to describe the Yes Fam.
Hi everyone, I know that this is a odd thing to do but I have just started a newsletter called The Hijabi Seeker, which traces what I call my Yes Journey. Please check it out!
